An der UDE ist es manchmal gar nicht so leicht, die Seminar- und Vorlesungsräume zu finden. Doch mit einigen Hinweisen und Tricks wird das ein Kinderspiel:
Beginnen wir mit dem Campus Duisburg:
Der Campus Duisburg teilt sich in mit Buchstaben bezeichnete Bereiche (Bereich L, Bereich M, etc.). Im jeweiligen Bereich findet ihr Gebäude mit je eigenen Bezeichnungen, z.B. Gebäude LK. Ist euer Seminar also in LK063, dann werdet ihr euren Raum in diesem Gebäude, im Erdgeschoss unter der Nummer 63 finden. Die Bereiche L und M sind zentral auf dem Hauptcampus gelegen. Das Gebäude SG, wo ihr das AAA und andere Hochschulverwaltungen findet, liegt etwas vom Campus entfernt. Zudem findet ihr weitere Gebäude um den Hauptcampus verteilt. Am Campus Essen wird es etwas komplizierter:
Der Campus ersteckt sich über das ganze Stadtgebiet. Ihr findet Gebäude auf dem Gelände von Zeche Zollverein, der Gruga und vielen weiteren Orten. Große Standorte sind zudem der Campus am Uniklinikum, die Gebäude an der Altendorferstraße und der Schützenbahn, die Sportgebäude an der Gladbeckerstraße und die Weststadttürme.
Doch die meisten Gebäude befinden sich auf dem Hauptcampus. Hier werden euch recht schnell die bunten Gebäude auffallen. Diese Farben sollen nicht nur optisch schön sein, sondern verraten euch auch, wo ihr eure Räume findet. Wenn ihr auf der Campuswiese steht, werdet ihr grüne, gelbe, rote und blaue Gebäude sehen. Die grünen Gebäude sind mit einem T bezeichnet, für tannengrün. An den gelben Gebäuden werdet ihr den Buchstaben S finden, für sonnengelb. Das R an den roten Gebäuden steht für rot und das V an den blauen Gebäuden für veilchenblau.
Eine Raumbezeichnung für den Campus Essen könnte dann z.B. so aussehen: R12 T03 C94. Ihr wisst jetzt schon, das R steht für ein rotes Gebäude – davon gibt es aber mehrere. Also müsst ihr das richtige finden und den Eingang R12 nehmen. T03 steht nun für das Stockwerk, in diesem Beispiel ist es also der dritte Stock. Das T verrät euch nun, dass der Gang, den wir später nehmen werden, T wie tannengrün sein wird. Nun stehen wir vor den grünen Gängen im dritten Stock und haben noch die Information C94 übrig. Das C sagt uns nun, welcher der grünen Gänge unserer ist. In diesem Gang suchen wir nun den Raum mit der Nummer 94 und schon habt ihr euren Seminarraum gefunden.
Dieses System funktioniert in allen Gebäuden am Hauptcampus in Essen und mit der Zeit erscheint es euch auch nicht mehr so kompliziert. Einen genauen Lageplan findet ihr unter folgendem Link:

At the UDE, it is sometimes hard to find any seminar rooms and lecture halls. But with a few tips and tricks, it will be pretty easy:
Let’s start with the Duisburg campus:
The Duisburg campus is divided into areas designated by letters (area L, area M, etc.). In each area, you will find buildings with their own designations, e.g., building LK. So if your seminar is in LK063, you will find your room in the LK building on the ground floor, which is indicated by the number 0. The number 63 will be the room number. Areas L and M are located on the main campus. The SG building, where you will find the AAA and other university administrations, is located in some distance from the campus. The situation at the Essen campus is a bit more complicated:
The campus extends across the city. You will find buildings on the grounds of the Zeche Zollverein, the Gruga Park, and many other locations. Other sites are at the Altendorferstraße and Schützenbahn, the sports buildings on Gladbeckerstraße, and the Weststadttürme Türme. And of course there is the medical campus at the University Hospital.
But the most buildings are located on the main campus. Here, you will quickly notice the colorful buildings. These colors are not only visually appealing, but also indicate where you can find your rooms. Standing on the campus lawn, you will see green, yellow, red, and blue buildings. The green buildings are marked with a T, for “Tannengrün”. On the yellow buildings, you will find the letter S, for “Sonnengelb”. The R on the red buildings stands simply for “Rot” and the V on the blue buildings for “Veilchenblau”.
A room designation for the Essen campus could then look like this: R12 T03 C94. You already know that the R stands for the red building – but there are several entrances. The 12 shows that you should use entrance 12 to get to your room. T03 now stands for the floor, so in this example it is the third floor. The T tells you that the corridor your room will be in, is “Tannengrün”. Now you are standing in front of the green corridors on the third floor and still have the information C94 left. The C tells you which of the green corridors is yours. In this corridor, you now search for the room with the number 94 and you have found your seminar room.
This system works in all buildings on the main campus in Essen and, with time, it will be less complicated. You can find a detailed map at the following link:
